How do I place an order?

You can order online: Ordering from townhouse.ie is fast and secure. Just follow these four steps to place your order.

1. To add an item to your shopping basket, click on the 'add to basket' button which is displayed below the image of each book cover. This brings you to the shopping basket. From here you have the option to 'recalculate' your order, 'proceed to checkout' or 'continue shopping'.
Note: If you change the quantity of books in your order or tick the 'delete' button, you must 'recalculate' your order before you 'proceed to checkout' or 'continue shopping'.

2. When you have finished shopping, click 'proceed to checkout' and here you will be asked to complete the order delivery details and  'validate your order'.

3. Next click the 'proceed to payment' button.

4. Finally enter your credit card details, click the 'make payment' button and you're done!

townhouse.ie will send you an order confirmation via email.  This will contain your unique order number which you can use to check your order status.

You can order by telephone:  We believe that ordering online is convenient, quick and safe. However, if you would prefer to order by phone, or pay by cheque or bank transfer, you can call the Customer Service department at our distributors, Gill & Macmillan, on +353 (0)1 5009555 from 09.00hrs to 18.00hrs GMT, Monday to Friday inclusive.

You can also order by fax: Fax your order details to +353 (0)1 5009596 and remember to include a daytime contact telephone number, address details and your preferred method of payment.

How can I pay for my order?

At townhouse.ie we accept Visa, Mastercard and Laser Card as methods of payment.

Where do you deliver and what are the charges?

We deliver to most major destinations around the world (although NOT to PO boxes). Charges will vary according to destination and the number of books you order.  The charge is calculated on the secure order form once you have confirmed the number of books you want to buy, your order destination and the preferred delivery method for your order.

How long will delivery take?

Orders are usually dispatched from our warehouse in Dublin within 1-2 working days. Delivery time to destinations in Ireland and the UK vary from 2-4 working days.  Delivery times to other countries and regions are indicated below:

USA & Canada (Airmail)

Can I track my order?

You can check the status of your order by clicking on the 'order status' button at the top of every page.  When you enter your order ID number and your email address you will be advised of the status of your order.

How can I see what I have in my shopping basket?

You can always keep an eye on how much is in your basket by clicking on the shopping basket located at the top of each page. This will bring you into your shopping basket. From here you can view all the items in your basket, as well as the total cost.

How do I delete an item or change the quantity of books in my shopping basket?

To remove an item from the cart simply tick the delete checkbox next to the item you do not wish to purchase and click on the 'recalculate' button.

To change the quantity ordered, change the value in the quantity field and click the 'recalculate' button.

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel or amend your order prior to checkout by deleting an item from your shopping basket.

How do I return something I've bought?

We offer our customers a "No quibbles" guarantee. We will accept any item returned to us within 7 days of delivery (or notification of return), provided it is undamaged. We will supply you with a full refund or exchange.
